Wireless Sensor Nodes

In a project funded by Dept of Energy (DOE), we have used two types of wireless sensor nodes for machine diagnostics. The wireless nodes are used to collect data remotely.

Custom made sensor nodes

The custom made sensor nodes are shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. They have long ranges as shown in Table 1 and Table 2. Hence they are suitable for long range applications.

Zigbee based wireless sensor nodes

Zigbee networks are short range mesh networks. The range is normally a few hundred feet. Fig. 3 shows the architecture of Zigbee network. Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 show the node and base station of Zigbee network.
